Nathan Baller developed the idea for Abode Outside after working in the clothing industry for over a decade and following the environmental impact of fashion since 2018. With the crucial help of brother Jake and other family and friends, Abode Outside was launched in 2020 with the goal of offering exceptional, eco-friendly clothing at reasonable prices enabling more people to shop sustainably. 

Nate's love of the outdoors began with family trips into the Boundary Waters Wilderness.  These trips deep into nature sparked a love of the outdoors that grew over the years. After graduating with a degree in Political Science and a focus on Journalism, Nate was certified as a wilderness first responder and moved to Colorado where he managed a shoe store and spent as much time as possible camping in the Rocky Mountains. 

In 2018 Nate studied sustainable clothing through the London College of Fashion. This valuable framework combined with a lifelong passion for the outdoors laid the foundation for what would become Abode Outside, an innovative performance and lifestyle knitwear brand with a pioneering approach to sustainability.
