Abode Outside was founded by a former wilderness first responder with the mission to use clothing as a tool to connect people with nature and protect the outdoors for the future.
Nate Baller, camping with family in the Boundary Waters around 2005, and using a vintage hand-powered knitting machine during an internship to a knitwear factory in China in 2008.

Abode Outside is inspired by a deep reverence for nature instilled in us by our late father and husband, Jim Baller. His love for the outdoors shaped who we are and continues to inspire everything we do.
Nate combined his passion, connections and experience to create a clothing brand dedicated to connecting people with nature.
With a formidable team of friends and family, Abode Outside launched in 2020, offering exceptional lifestyle and performance knitwear designed to limit pollution, connect people with nature and keep you comfortable wherever the day takes you.

2012 | Certified Wilderness First Responder
2013 | Moved to Colorado and Co-managed a Running Shoe Store
2018 | Studied Sustainable Clothing through the London College of Fashion
2020 | Launched Abode Outside Online, With One Product, the Neck Gaiter.
2021 | Expanding Inventory Into Clothing.
